3D Text Logo [ Tut PS ]

In this tutorial you will learn how to make a 3D Text Logo using Photoshop.

OK! Make a new document about 800x200. After that ad a dark background. I used #292929

Now using the font that you like type your text. In my case xTutorials. The color I used is #2779b8

Now go to Layer->Rasterize->Type. After that go to Edit->Transform->Distort and play with the text. I made something like this:

Now Select your text layer. Hold ALT and pres the right key several times. This will duplicate the layer and move it one pixel to the right. This is what I received so far. You should have something very similar. Don't wory if your text is really hard to read. We will fix that.

Now select all the text layer except the last one(the original layer, not the copied ones) and merge them. Now move your original layer on top of the copied layer. This should be the layer order.

To the Copy layer ad a new color so you can clearly see the difference. To do that go to Blending Options->Color Overlay. I used #4f4f4f The result is this:

We are almost done. Now let's apply some effects to the logo.

Select the first layer (the blue text) and go to Blending Options. Use these settings:

The result so far is this:

Now select the other layer (the perspective layer) and ad this gradient to it:

After that an inner glow with these settings looks good:

For more effect you can ad a Carbon Pattern to the first layer, but this is up to you. Anyway, here are the results (with and without the pattern):

Hosting Layout [ Tut Ps ]

n this tutorial you will learn how to make a professional hosting layout using Photoshop. First wee create a new document 1024x768, transparent background.

Now we ad a rectangular the same size as the document. This will actually be the background. The colors should be something dark. I used #252525.

Now we create the main menu. Make a white small rectangle on the stage. Size about 40x155. Now ad two anchor points just like in the image below.

Now move the two bottom anchor points outside until you have something similar to this:

Now ad this gradient to it:

Also ad a white inner glow to it:

Make about five copies of it and put them in line just like in the image below:

Now just ad the text: Size 14, color White.

Now create an almost white (#efefef) rectangle about 940x200 and place it under the buttons. Also make sure covers the bottom part of the buttons so that you can't see the white inner glow there. Also ad a 1pixel black stroke to it.

Now create a new layer and make a selection that has the same hight as the big white rectangle but only 1px width. Now select the Gradient Tool. Set the gradient from black to transparent and set it as Diamond Gradient. Now drag the gradient in the selection from the middle, to the top. Now you should have something like this
This will actually be the separator between contents. Now we ad some text and use the separator we created earlier between the content.

Now create another rectangle with the following dimensions: 570x230. Also ad a 1px black stroke to it. Now we search for a nice stock photo with some servers. I used the one from this link.

Place it in the rectangle you just created. Scale it proportional so it has the same hight as the rectangle.

Now ad a layer mask to it. Now ad a linear gradient form black to transparent to it from the right to the middle of the image. Something like this:

Make sure you have the layer with the servers selected and press CTRL+U. Click on Colorize and drag the sliders until you have a nice orange color. Something like this:

Now just ad some text next to it. Also make a Read More button. To do this make a rectangle that is the size you want your button to be. Don't make it to big. Ad the same gradient from the buttons at the top, but don't ad the inner glow. Over it type "Read More" and use a nice orange color. Put it at the right of the button. To the left ad a smaller and lighter rectangle and over it place an arrow. Your result should be something like this:

To the left ad three rectangles just like in the image below:

Ad some text and also the Read More button:

Now ad three smaller rectangle just like this:

Ad a white 1px stroke to them. Now from top to bottom ad the following gradients:

The result:

Now just ad the prices:

Now it's time for the footer of the page. Create a rectangle that is 940x36. Ad this gradient to it:

Also ad the same white inner glow to it.

Using the same technique create a new separator for this rectangle, but this time from white to transparent. Now ad some links and put the separator between them:

Now at the top just ad the company name and slogan and the layout is complete. Final result below:

Hope you have enjoyed this tutorials. If you liked it please don't forget to leave a small donation to cover up hosting bills.

Vista Smoke Effect [ Tut Ps ]

Learn how to make a realistic smoke in Photoshop and applying Vista color to make a cool looking slash screen.

OK! First thing first: create a new document for the smoke. Make sure it is a lot larger than the actual image where you will use the smoke. For example I will use this smoke in a 800x600 image but the document where the smoke will be created is 1280x1024.

Create a black background. Actually it can be almost any color, but the best results are with black backgrounds. Get he Polygonal Lasso Tool and draw a shame similar to this one (actually it can be almost any irregular shape):

No go to Edit->Fill and as the color make it #339fcc or something similar. press CTRL+D to deselect. The result should be something like this:

Now select the Dodge Tool, but the range to Highlight and color the corners and the edges of the shape. Now get the Burn Tool, set the range to Midtones and color the inner part. As closer you are to the middle, the stronger the burn should be. The result should be something like this:

Now let's make this into smoke. Go to Filter->Distort->Wave, Use these settings:

Go to Edit->Fade Wave. Set it to 50% and press OK. I know right now it does not look like smoke at all...but repeat the last steps many times and it will look very realistic. You can even hit the randomize button from time to time to make it even more realistic. This is what I came up with. You result will be very different, but if you have applied the wave distortion many times than it should look really cool.

Now create a new document with the size that you want your file to be. Mine is 800x600. Ad a black background to it. Now drag the smoke layer from the previous file to this new one. You may need to scale it in order to get the desired dimensions. Now create a new layer. Select the gradient tool and apply a gradient from Bottom to Top. This is the gradient that you will apply:

Set the blending mode to Overlay. Now just add some text.

Final result:

Remember to experimentize. You won't get the same result twice. Change the innitial shape, the color and press the Randomise button more and you will get some interesting effects. Here is another example made with the same technique.
